Criteria For Getting Your Story Published

Length per story is 500-6000 words max.

  1. Write the story as if you are talking to your best friend, in the confines of your living room, with all the details about your experience.
  2. Describe the event and the people in emotional terms, with words that will make the reader FEEL exactly what you were feeling.
  3. Write the dialogue of the characters, by closing your eyes and hearing the words and expressions you remember them saying.
  4. End your story with some closing thought; one that may be humorous or with pathos, but one that has meaning.
  5. Most importantly, write it down! Your story is important and should be shared, and the Native Hawaii site would be a great place to have it read!
